“Another Kyoto, The Forest” is part of the 3 episodes short films for “Another Kyoto”.

A husband and wife who have been married for 10 years were on a trip to Kyoto for a holiday. Somehow, they broke into an argument and ended up going about separately by themselves. The husband came all by himself to the forested part of Kyoto to discover nature, a village, and some unique traditional houses. Enjoying the beautiful landscape of Kyoto’s forest, he wishes his wife were to be there with him.

The forests of Ashiu and the villages of Miyama are located in the centralpart of Kyoto Prefecture (Kameoka-city, Nantan-city, Kyotanba, Fukuchiyama, Ayabe, Kyoto-city Ukyo-ward Keihoku). These forests have nurtured our lives and culture for centuries. From many aspects of these forests, the diverse nature has bring our culture to live, and it continues to bring forestry and the forest’s culture into the future. We aim to protect and promote such previous forests of Kyoto to the world, for everyone to experience the power and wonders of nature.
