This is the short documentary to introduce a group of people called the Zainichi Koreans, Koreans residing in Japan. The film explores the meaning of a nationality / passport through the perspectives of the people who are having issues with identity. The audience mainly follows a life story of a Zainichi Korean girl named Aryong Kim who is studying in the U.S. without a passport and a citizenship.

About the filmmaker

Ik-Tong Ryo was born and raised in Japan as a 3.5th generation Zainichi Korean. He moved to Los Angeles in 2011 to study filmmaking, and during that time participated in over 30 film productions. Today, he produces online digital content for an advertising consultancy in Tokyo.
