About the filmmaker
Born and raised in Malaysia, Ellie was a scholar who went on to graduate with top honours from the London School of Economics in the United Kingdom in 2008. Four years later, the Singapore Media Development of Authority (MDA) took notice on one of her short screenplays and funded her first short film. 'Onee-Chan' went on to be screened at the Long Beach Indie International Film Festival in 2013. This was followed by 'Lollypop Love’ which premiered at the Los Angeles Women’s International Film Festive in 2014, and was selected to represent Singapore at the 2015 One Film One Country Apchat International Film Festival in Europe.
